Seek and Geek I recently became the custodian for an Othermill (a small CNC milling machine aimed mostly at milling PCBs).
The Othermill itself is a useful tool, but nothing particularly unique. However, they recently posted a very clever idea on their blog.
The "Bit Fan" is a 3D-printed or milled fan blade attachment for a cutting tools.
The "fan" is press-fits over the shank of the cutting tool and spins with the tool, blowing away chips.
This is a super simple way to introduce a chip-clearing system into a milling machine, and is surprisingly effective.
Here is a video of a bit fan in action.
