These are PFJL's thoughts on the system manager's job. Recording these
ideas does NOT constitute endorsement
- System Manager must give highest priority to the tasks in
this list, not ARR jumping.
- System Manager only accepts proposed changes to HOPS that
- Have been successfully compiled. If changes are within
a CPP directive, code must be compiled with and without
the CPP directive on.
- Have been run twice: with and without the proposed change.
- System Manager must be given time to evaluate the changes to HOPS.
- System Manager must be given time to reproduce the supplied runs
after porting the changes to HOPS.
- System Manager must be given time to try the changes in a set
of standard simulations. One possible set

- RR 97
- RR 98
- MBST 98
- some idealized tests.
