The M.I.T. Program on Human Rights and Justice (PHRJ) helped launch a new quarterly internet journal, Human Rights & Human Welfare: An International Review of Books and Other Publications (HRHW). HRHW is a collaborative effort between the PHRJ and seven other human right centers throughout the world. Published at the University of Denver's Graduate School of International Studies, HRHW features essays on significant contemporary debates in the area of human rights using current books and other publications as centerpieces or points of departure. The April issue features essays on a variety of topics, including African concepts of human rights, the Pinochet case, property rights in Chiapas, and the origins, drafting, and intent of The Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The journal can be found at www.du.edu/gsis/hrhw. If you are interested in reviewing a book or report, www.du.edu/gsis/hrhw/upcoming/recent.html displays a list of titles that HRHW would like to have reviewed by M.I.T. faculty and students. If you are interested in submitting a review essay
based on one or more of the titles, please send an e-mail to phrj@mit.edu with your proposed essay topic. |
