Green Center for Physics

The Green Center will allow students, postdocs and faculty to
come together
in a central place. Now, with the physics department
spread all over the campus,
it is much harder to share ideas and
discover areas for potential collaborations.
Physics is about interactions,
not only between particles, but also between scientists.
-Wolfgang
Ketterle, MacArthur Professor & 2001 Nobel Laureate

Neil Pappalardo, lifetime member of the MIT Corporation, offered
to match dollar for dollar up to $5 million from other donors. Virgil Elings Ph.D. '65 accepted the challenge with a $3.5 million pledge to name the Center for Theoretical Physics. Additional naming opportunities are available, creating a unique opportunity to invest in the continued greatness of Physics at MIT.
