Join a select group of alumni and friends for a day of lectures, tours, and round table discussions on current challenges in cosmology and astrophysics. MIT faculty will talk about current research using some of the premier facilities in the world including the Magellan Telescopes and the Laser Interferometer Gravitational Wave Observatory (LIGO). The following topics will be discussed:
- Inflationary cosmology
- Gravitational waves
- Black holes
- Planets around other stars
- Mileura Widefield Array
- Future directions
- Magellan Telescopes
- LIGO
Thomas Levenson will give a colloquium talk, “The Suddenly Famous Dr. Einstein”, at 4:15 PM.
