The Pure Love Alliance is an issue-based, non-sectarian, non-partisan group that promotes the values of sexual abstinence and marital fidelity as social norms. Abstinence is not only the best contraceptive and the best defense against sexually transmitted diseases, but it is also inextricably linked to character development and family building. We believe that reserving sexual relationships for marriage is the starting point for personal happiness, physical health and a prosperous society of strong families.
The Pure Love Alliance began in 1995 when 80 students
sneaked into the “Oscars” and protested against the movie, The People vs.
Larry Flint. They
caught the attention of the media and that was how the history began.
Later on, a major breakthrough occurred in the summer of 1997, when the Pure
Love Alliance conducted a national campaign called the Pure Love ’97 national
tour. A total of 300 high school and college age students traveled
across the nation from Los Angeles to Washington, D.C. and rallied in 26 cities.
The tour lasted 52 days, and the Pure Love Alliance received a lot of
media attention.
In the summer of 1998, the Pure Love Alliance went out to
the world. Over 150 students from
America joined the students in Japan and Korea and rallied in the major cities
of Japan and Korea.

CLUE (Creating Love and Uplifting Esteem) is an abstinence-based educational curriculum developed by the Pure Love Alliance. Rather than merely pointing out the health-related dangers of premarital and extramarital sex, the CLUE curriculum also stresses the value of unselfish love and lasting relationships. A successful and fulfilling marriage is presented as the natural culmination of the development of strong moral character. CLUE is currently being taught in over 50 schools in the Chicago area.
