Welcome to the Precision Motion Control Laboratory!
The Precision Motion Control group at MIT conducts research in the design
of electromechanical systems for precise positioning applications such as
semiconductor photolithography, high-speed machine tools, and scanned probe
microscopy. Our group's strengths in electro mechanics, controls, and
mechanical design complement the more traditional mechanical engineering
disciplines to allow us to develop novel machines, actuators, and sensors
for advanced manufacturing processes.
This webpage catalogs the goings on at the Precision Motion Control
Laboratory. This website
contains information on our fearless leader, Professor David L. Trumper, as
well as all of the students currently working in the lab. Inevitably, our
students graduate to do better things (and hopefully get an office with a
window), but we keep their info around for when we feel nostalgic (check out
the Alumni page for more info). We also have detailed descriptions of all
the projects that we are currently working on, and those we have finished as
well. We hope that you find the information contained in this website useful
and invite you to contact us at any time for further discussion. Enjoy!
