GRADUATE STUDIES  |  Andrónico Luksic Fellowship

The Andrónico Luksic PhD Fellowship was established in 2010 by Andrónico Luksic and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), to provide an extraordinary opportunity to one Fellow each year to pursue his or her studies at MIT's renowned Department of Political Science.

The Fellowship was created to support education and research opportunities primarily for MIT students who are citizens of Chile. Providing financial support to graduate students, the Fellowship seeks to foster the development and growth of new leaders in policy and political science.


Andrónico LuksicA member of the Latin America Executive Board at MIT Sloan School of Management, Andrónico Luksic is also the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Banco de Chile, the largest financial institution in Chile, and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Quiñenco S.A., Chile's leading business conglomerate and controlling entity of a number of industrial and service companies in Chile.

Andrónico is also the founder and President of two nonprofit foundations; Fundación Educacional Oportunidad which is devoted to improving early childhood education in Chile and the Fundación Amparo y Justicia which provides legal support to victims of sexual abuse.

His passion for developing Chile and Latin America's public service led him to the establishment of the Luksic Fellowship, which aims to help shape the political leaders of the next generation through MIT's renowned program.

Andrónico resides in Santiago along with his wife and five children.
