Biography
John David Payne is a PhD candidate in Political Science at MIT. His dissertation, to be defended in summer 2011, is on state-sponsored terrorism during the Cold War. His major sub-fields are international relations and security studies. Research and teaching interests include: American foreign policy, religion and terrorism, civil-military relations, ethnic conflict, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and African politics.
