GRADUATE STUDENT | MARSIN ALSHAMARY
Marsin Alshamary is a PhD student in Comparative Politics and International Relations with a focus on contentious politics and social movement in the Middle East. Her research interests include Islamist political thought, religious symbolism, and the socio-political power of clerics in the Shi’ite world. Marsin holds a BA in International Relations and French from Wellesley College. Before coming to MIT, she was the Director of Operations at Empowerment through Integration, working on the empowerment of blind youth in developing nations.
