Yue Hou


Yue Hou is a PhD Candidate in political economy and political methodology. Her research interests include authoritarian institutions, the political economy of development, ethnic politics, business-state relations,and China. Her dissertation studies strategies Chinese private entrepreneurs use to protect property from expropriation.

Yue Hou graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Grinnell College with degrees in Economics and Mathematics in 2009. She previously worked for the Chinese Academy of Social Science (CASS) and the Grameen Bank in Bangladesh.
