Kristin Fabbe is a PhD student specializing in comparative politics and methodology. Her research interests broadly include identity politics, ethnic conflict, state-building, nationalism and the relationship between religion and politics. She is currently working on her dissertation which explores the strategic relationship between state-building elites and religious authorities in post-Ottoman Balkans and Middle East. Her research has been funded by various organizations, including the US Department of State, the American Research Institute in Turkey and the National Security Education Program. Before joining the program at MIT Kristin recieved BA in History from Lewis and Clark College and an MSc in International Relations and History, with Distinction, from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
