UNDERGRADUATE STUDIES  |  Meet our Students

John Halloran '15
Political Science

John Halloran

John is a sophomore majoring in Political Science and minoring in Economics. Academically, he is interested in foreign policy and national security issues, but participates actively as a member of the MIT College Republicans engaging with domestic politics as well.

A student-athlete here at MIT, John starts at Nose Guard and Defensive Tackle for the MIT Engineers Varsity Football Team. Last season he recorded a total of 28 tackles in 9 games. He loves that he can still play football competitively while studying at a school the caliber of MIT. John is also a brother of the Sigma Tau Chapter of Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity on campus. As its current treasurer, he handles all of the financial matters of the chapter.

A native of Long Island, NY, John attended the all-boys, Society of Mary run Chaminade High School. John credits his time at Chaminade for his Catholic faith and his balanced approach to life as a student.
Going forward, John is thinking about attending either graduate school in Political Science or law school. He would like to decide after gaining more work experience in both research here at MIT and policy work in the field.
