The POPI office is located at the extreme east end of the MIT campus. The office is suite 390 of MIT Dibner Building number E56, located at 38 Memorial Drive. We are a 5 minute walk from the Kendall Square T stop (subway station).
Visitors who drive to MIT should note that parking spaces are scarce in Cambridge. Due to severe space limitations, MIT has no visitor parking available for a fee in campus lots. The nearest available public parking garage to POPI is the Cambridge Center Garage, located on Ames Street and Broadway, near the corner of Main Street and Ames Street, behind Legal Seafoods Restaurant. Note that the Broadway entrance is accessible only from the inbound-to-Boston side of the street. This garage is adjacent to the Boston Marriott-Cambridge Hotel and is a 5 minute walk from the POPI office.
Parking is also available for a fee at a small lot located on the corner of Massachusetts Avenue and Vassar Street.
MIT has negotiated special reduced rates with a number of hotels for the convenience of visitors to its campus. For reservations and current MIT rates, please contact the hotels directly. Because of high demand, it is advisable to make hotel reservations as early as possible.
The Cambridge Marriott is the hotel closest to the POPI office; it is a 5 minute walk.

MIT has joined the Ivy League Program for other hotel negotiations. We have established a "consortia" program giving the universities within the Ivy League Group the ability to use their consolidated travel to impact their buying power. When making reservations, please identify yourself as a member of the Ivy League Group. The hotels keep records of Ivy League related business placed with them, and volume will be the key to future rate negotiations.
The Ivy Plus Hotel Directory includes specially negotiated rates at 13 hotels in 9 cities. These rates are up to 40% below the standard corporate rate and at least 10% below the American Express consortium rate. The Ivy Plus Hotel Director is a collaborative effort of several colleges and universities with similar travel plans to provide cost savings based on joint purchasing power. When making reservations, always ask for the Ivy Plus rate and ask your agent to check for the availability of promotional rates. Also, when requesting government rates, a letter from the sponsored project stating the funding source may be required upon check-in. Government rates are subject to availability.
