Accommodations
MIT Professional Education - Short Programs participants can arrange to stay at hotels or bed and breakfasts near campus or, during the summer, in a dormitory on campus. Most participants stay in hotels within walking distance of campus. Housing is not included in Short Programs tuition.
*We do not recommend booking your hotel reservations through third-party booking agents. Please book with the following hotels directly and ask for the MIT rate. In most cases, you will need to call the hotel to receive the MIT rate. You will not be able to make your reservation online.

Dormitory Housing
Most Short Programs participants choose to stay in local hotels. Less expensive, basic housing is also available in the summer in dormitories on campus.
Dormitory Conditions
Most rooms have a single (twin-sized) bed. Guests are provided with sheets and a blanket, a dresser, a closet, and a desk. A few “doubles” are available to accommodate two guests. Bathrooms are shared with both students and other professionals and are located outside the room. The non-smoking, co-ed building offers a lounge/common area, self-service laundry room, and limited linen service (sheets changed weekly; towels daily).
*Please note that dormitory housing does not have air conditioning. Summers in Boston/Cambridge can be quite humid so please keep this in mind when considering staying at the MIT dorm.
Dorm rooms do not have room service, room televisions or radios, or kitchen facilities. Please note that telephones are not available in individual rooms; hallway phones are for emergencies and local calls only. The building is locked, but staff are on duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The dorm rooms offer wireless internet access. During registration you will be provided with information regarding how to access the MIT wireless system.
Reservations
Room reservations are run by MIT Conference Services. To make, alter, or cancel a reservation, please go to the Online Application. Reservations are on a first-come, first-served basis and subject to room availability. Dormitory reservations must be received at least two weeks in advance of your intended arrival date.
Dormitory housing is only available between June 10th and August 11th. Dorm stays begin the day prior to the program. Checkout is 11:00 am on the final day of the course.
Occupants
Only participants in courses offered by MIT Professional Education - Short Programs are allowed to reserve dormitory rooms through our office. We are unable to accommodate requests to house family members or any other non-participant. Children under twelve years of age and pets are not allowed in the dormitory. Children 15 years of age and older, who are enrolled in a Short Programs course, are charged the adult daily rate. Any children under 18 must be housed in the same room as a parent or other chaperone. No dormitory employee is authorized to modify these regulations.

Payment
Program fees must be received by Short Programs before dormitory reservations will be processed.

Cambridge can be very busy in the summertime. If you are having trouble finding accommodations close to MIT or lodging that is affordable, you may consider a hotel that is easily accessible to the MIT campus via public transportation.
