To further the emergence of shared research interests and practices
among the next generations of scholars and of a strong research network
between MIT and Politecnico, the Progetto Rocca promotes two-ways
student and post-doctoral exchanges through:
- Roberto Rocca doctoral Fellowships (5-6 a year) for top Politecnico PhD’s who
wish to come to MIT for a 6 -12 month research stay as visiting
students. The doctoral Rocca Fellows receive $6,500 per term, plus a una tantum travel allowance of $ 1,500. The Progetto also covers MIT term fees. Successful candidates must have an excellent academic record and a faculty sponsor at MIT who will act as their “host”, usually in the context of a common research interest with Politecnico. - Roberto Rocca post-doctoral Fellowships (2 a
recently minted Politecnico PhD’s who are involved
in innovative joint research projects between MIT and Politecnico
and wish to spend 12 months at MIT working on these projects. Successful
applicants must have access to a similar 12 months post-doc fellowship
at Politecnico upon completing their stay at MIT.
- Roberto Rocca Research Grants for MIT graduate and advanced
undergraduate students who wish to spend a 1-3 months
research stay at Politecnico, either in the context of an ongoing
collaboration or with the aim of exploring its feasibility. Successful
applicants must have an academic “host” at Politecnico.
Grants vary depending on the length of stay.
Please note: all Fellows are expected to contribute to the activities of the Rocca Fellows community both during their tenure as Fellows and afterwards as alumni.
