The MacVicar Faculty Fellows Program was named to honor the life and contributions of Margaret MacVicar, Professor of Physical Science and Dean for Undergraduate Education at the time of her death in 1991. MacVicar Day 2007 will be celebrated on Friday, March 2nd, when the new Fellows for 2007 will be announced by Provost L. Rafael Reif at a formal ceremony as part of the MIT Corporation Lunch.
In the afternoon, the MacVicar Faculty Fellows are sponsoring MIT's annual recognition of undergraduate education with a three-part program exploring the statement, "I learn best when . . .".
- In 32-141, a roundtable discussion during which students, faculty, and alumni will share the learning strategies and tools that enable them to master valuable knowledge and skills;
- On Student Street, demonstrations and exhibits will show how technology can help learning;
- Outside 32-141, a reception will follow the roundtable discussion.
