Presidential Fellows in the News

Presidential Fellows are involved in cutting edge research during their times as fellows, and afterwards. The following Presidential Fellows have received publicity for their research, and have agreed to have it displayed on this website.

  • Presidential Fellow David Danielson chairs the MIT Energy Club, bringing together the energy, technology, policy, and business communities at MIT. David was a panelist at the 5/3/2006 MIT Energy Forum.

  • Neurons spell out MIT, the work of Presidential Fellow Sawyer Fuller (S.B. 2000, S.M. 2003 in Mechanical Engineering) and Neville Sanjana, a graduate student in Brain and Cognitive Sciences. For details, see the recent Tech Talk article: Peptides: the 21st centuryís building blocks

  • Infrared IRAS image of supernova remnant CTB 80 (click on image for an enlarged view); an example of the exciting research supported by Presidential Graduate Fellowship Awards. The dashed line and arrow indicate pulsar's motion detected by a team led by Presidential Fellow Joshua Migliazzo of the MIT Physics Department.

Age discrepancy throws existing pulsar theories into turmoil

  • Presidential Fellow Jacquelyn Martino is an artist and researcher in Design and Computation in the Department of Architecture at M.I.T. Her current doctoral research endeavors to synthesize imagery based on an analysis of her own drawing and painting. The exhibit "Form and Element" is a visual study derived from the analysis phase of this research. Pictured here is Moon, a 28"x28" Iris Giclee print on Somerset Velvet.
