project name |
Student Life website
http://web.mit.edu/dsl/ |
MIT client |
Dean of Student Life |
date |
September 2002 |
audience |
MIT undergraduates and their parents |
goals |
Improve communication between MIT administration and students regarding campus life issues, such as the 2001 freshmen on-campus dining and residency requirement. Clarify the role of the DSL, which was still referred to by its former name, ODSUE (Office of the Dean of Students and Undergraduate Education) in many online communications. |
strategy |
Use strong visual elements to give confidence to parents of incoming students, as well as to the current student body, that student life issues at MIT are being addressed. With energy, fun, and respect, introduce site visitors to the important editorial messages within the site, as well as to the other programs and departments within the DSL. |
benefits |
Increased undergraduates' awareness of new campus residency and dining requirements and the reasoning and history behind their implementation. Demonstrated leadership in innovative web communications and united the large number of departments and programs within the DSL by serving as an umbrella site. |
