Libraries Case Statement brochure |
MIT client |
MIT Libraries |
completed |
September 2006 |
audience |
Previous and potential donors as well as MIT's Resource Development office |
goals |
Create a central theme to integrate all development communications and make a distinct departure from the way academic libraries have been marketed in the past. The case statement brochure is considered the Libraries' primary development communications piece, and the messaging created for it will influence and be used in subsequent communications, including brochures, a website, and appeal letters. |
strategy |
Focus on communicating three key aspects of the MIT Libraries in which donors are pivotal in funding: library innovation, preservation and history, and the Libraries as a place for community at MIT. Use an oversized design and bright color palette to strengthen the impact of the messaging ñ that donors are essential in helping the Libraries in their role of preserving information and MIT's culture. |
benefits |
The brochure has attracted the attention of donors, library peers, and MIT colleagues and has fueled conversation and interest in Libraries' initiatives. It has heightened the visibility of the Libraries' fundraising efforts on campus and led to an increased number of donor visits. |
