September 2006 |
audience |
Undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and staff |
goals |
Raise awareness in the Institute community of the role the MIT Police play in general campus life as well as in times of emergency. Demonstrate that the MIT Police are committed to serving in an effective and professional manner. The booklet is a required publication of the Department of Education under the Jeanne Clery Act, and it must disseminate campus security policies and crime statistics to all current students and employees. It is made available to any applicant for enrollment or employment upon request. |
strategy |
Hire a professional designer to reorganize the hierarchy of the content, add new photographs focusing on the friendliness of the MIT Police, and create a new page layout with increased font size for better legibility. |
benefits |
The client experienced substantially more requests for this publication than in previous years and received many comments on its improved readability. |
