project name |
Celebrating Professorships save-the-date card, invitation, and program |
MIT client |
Resource Development |
completed |
September 2006 |
audience |
MIT senior administrators, faculty/recipients of named professorships, and the donors who made the professorships possible |
goals |
Promote and support MIT's endowed professorship donor event in September 2006. Highlight the connection between benefactors and the discoveries their gifts made possible. |
strategy |
The design theme was the concept of the reveal: revealing the "names behind the names," revealing information about MIT professors and donors, and revealing information about MIT research and discoveries. The physical representation of the reveal manifested itself throughout the publications, as did the use of the MIT colors, red and grey. |
benefits |
The unique nature of the invitation, including the design and the positioning of donors as heirs to the historical legacy of scientific and artistic patrons, generated significant interest in the event and resulted in a large turnout. The program was also highly engaging the night of the event, and the donors responded well to the rich content and inventive nature of the design. |
