completed |
September 2006 |
audience |
Current and prospective Forum members, who are typically mid- to upper-level managers from corporations or government institutions that are involved in manufacturing and supply chain management |
goals |
Retain existing members and recruit new members by strengthening brand recognition and increasing awareness of the Forum's numerous membership benefits: access to research by MIT faculty and students, exposure to emerging technologies, use of educational software tools, and opportunities to attend conferences and participate in professional peer exchange. Launch the new identity and website prior to the Forum's yearly board meeting, roughly four months from the project kickoff. |
strategy |
Create a logo that symbolizes the movement and flow of products through a supply chain, and use the logo and consistent color palette on all communications. Develop a brochure that provides prospective members with an overview of membership benefits and drives readers to the website for details.
For the website, create a rich section on member resources to provide research data, educational tools, and a platform for information exchange. Upgrade search functionality and include case studies. |
benefits |
As a measure of the program's success, the Forum has seen an increase in membership. In addition, the Forum has expanded into Europe through collaboration with two European research organizations. |

PSB role |
Worked with the client to define the project scope, identify the project deliverables, and write a request for proposals. Recommended several small design firms, who met with the Forum members. The Forum selected a design team based on design style and project management capabilities. Recommended appropriate printers for the business papers, brochure, and folder.
