Technology Children's Centers website

MIT client |
Technology Children's Centers (TCC) |
completed |
May 2006 |
audience |
Prospective and current MIT employees and graduate students who are interested in child care services |
goals |
Create a visually pleasing site that reflects the mission of TCC and its philosophy on child care. Organize the site to ensure ease of navigation. |
strategy |
Use inviting colors that are not traditionally childlike yet still convey the feelings of warmth and inclusiveness. Give personality to TCC by using engaging photos and featuring profiles of the centers' directors. Create text with a friendly, welcoming tone, and make it easy to scan by using bold headers. |
benefits |
The site is welcoming and reflects the character of TCC. Because the Q&A section is featured prominently in the navigation, phone calls to TCC are now more focused. Many families are submitting their application electronically, enabling a more effective use of staff time. |
specifications |
Static website that is easily maintained in Dreamweaver. Two audience portals (MIT administrators and enrolled families) provide a quick overview with links specific to the needs of the audience. |
