Solution: Hidden Passages

SOLUTION:

Each of the word squares comes from a different passage of the 1611 King James Bible Apocrypha. In each square you start on the green letter and try to get to the red letter. For each move, you can move exactly as many spaces up, down, to the left, or to the right as is indicated by the number which is in that direction. This spells out the following words:

ashes
to
slain
prey
things
ready
their
and
upon
the
nor
God
be

Each of these is the eighth word of one of the first thirteen verses of the ninth chapter of Judith. The eighth word of the 14th and final verse is ACKNOWLEDGE.
