Solution to A Pile of Pictures

by Benjamin Balas, Erin Conwell, and Noah Snyder

Each image comes from a work (film, book, or video game). The enumeration of the title of the work (without initial THEs) matches the numbers written on the image. For example (THE) FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING ---> 10, 2, 3, 4.

Each image also has a prominantly featured animal. These animals are the 12 animals of the Chinese Zodiac.

In Chinese Zodiac order the images are:

rat(R)EDWALL
oxT(E)N COMMANDMENTS
tigerAL(A)DDIN
rabbitHOU(S)E AT POOH CORNER
dragonPETE'(S) DRAGON
snakeLITTL(E) PRINCE

sheepPRINCES(S) BRIDE
monkeySECRET OF (M)ONKEY ISLAND
roosterCAN A ROOST(E)R DRIVE A TRACTOR

Reading down the diagonal gives the answer, REASSESSMENT.
