Movie-Musicals (solution)

This puzzle has 18 close-ups from movie posters, presented in alphabetical order and a collage of 18 Playbill covers with their titles removed presented randomly.
The first step is to identify the movies and the musicals involved. Once that’s done, the next step is to pair the titles by placing them into the boxes provided.
Next, overlap the end of each movie title with the beginning of its paired musical title. There will be one extra letter in every case (always in the movie title), which is the letter to extract. The extra letters spell LIPPASTHEWILDBLANK which refers to Andrew Lippa’s musical “The Wild Party” (wikipedia entry). The answer is PARTY.
