The answer is REALTY The corresponding square is hotel puzzle by Brian Tivol This hotel is named "Sheraton" because it contains the word "at", the name of a symbol that can be typed by holding down the shift key and typing a number. All of the answers share this property of questionable importance. Figure out which number is associated with each answer, and pull out that letter to spell the answer. If you don't like anagramming, you can always perform the quick operation described in the puzzle. Just add Ashcroft, Cheney, and Evans to the mix. CORNSTARCH -> STAR -> R CHEMICAL COMPOUND -> POUND -> E LATVIAN -> AT -> A DOLLAR BILL -> DOLLAR -> L ATHENIAN -> AT -> T STARRY-EYED -> STAR -> Y This turned out to be the hardest Hotel puzzle, with several teams staring at it for over 24 hours. In retrospect, this was this year's "pokemon" puzzle (cf. 2000's hunt): one which our testsolvers got quickly, making us think it wasn't that difficult, but almost all teams had trouble with. It's possible that the problem was that it had a theme and that teams didn't recognize the great rifts between the ordering that the hotel puzzle itself gave them, and the manipulation required after that to get the metapuzzle answer, until they had many other hotels under their belts.
