Document 6.9: Dictionary

Another sheet of paper was stuck inside a dictionary, the librarian explains. "It was quite annoying! He'd written, 'It seemed that a word dropped out sometimes, and the librarian always looked for it,' but I just know he meant 'seems', 'drops', and 'looks'. Based on where he stuck the paper, he apparently wanted the first word after 'three-quarter-length,' but I have no idea what it is.

"In his frustration, he must have written a bunch of his own definitions. I guess some people just have their own way of speaking."
