Solution to Nautilus's Duplicated Quest

The two windows are the Past and Future of the same set of rooms.

An arrow at the top of the screen indicates the time travel dynamic of the room. Right-pointing arrow means things left in the room in the Past age and appear in the Future. Left-pointing arrow means things left in the room in the Future get younger and appear in the Past. Straight line means things are transfered between Past and Future without aging/getting younger.

The loops indicate that a loop must be closed to take some action in the room. Clockwise loop means something must be done in the Past to fix the Future. Counterclockwise is something must be done in the Future to fix the Past. The loop without arrows indicates that there's a fixed loop and you must avoid changing the Past or Future and as it will affect the other time. Things glow either red or green, depending on whether the loop that they are a part of has been fixed (green is fixed, red is not).

The map is a 3x3 grid of rooms; you start off in the center room. There are several possible solutions to the puzzle involving different actions you can take.

In the Past, go to the NE room and take the BOY and the BUCKET. Talk to the BOY and give him a password, then move South to the E room and drop the boy in the room. Go West to the center room and use the BUCKET with the FAUCET to fill it up in the Future.

In the Future, take the full BUCKET from under the faucet and use it with the FIRE to put it out. Now pick up the ASHES and go North to the N room. Use the ASHES with the TREES (or leave the ASHES) to the cause a FIRE to spread in the N room in the Past.

Now still in the Future, move South from the starting room and take the somewhat-old TEAPOT. Then go back to the E room and talk to the MAN. Give him the same password as you gave the BOY. This closes the loop and allows you to move to the NE room in the Future. Go North to the NE room and leave the TEAPOT there to transfer it to the Past.

In the Past, move to the NE room and pick up the TEAPOT. Move South to the E room to age the TEAPOT (alternatively, you may move back to the center room).

In the Future, move South to the room that now contains the antique TEAPOT and pick it up. Go North to the NE room and use the TEAPOT with the TROLL to get him to let you through. Go West into the N room and pick up the now accessible old WRENCH. Go East back to the NE room and navigate to the SW room. Leave the old WRENCH there.

In the Past, you are now able to pick up the new WRENCH in the SW room because you closed the loop. Do so. Now go back to the center room and use the WRENCH with the FAUCET to fix it. You are now able to fill up the BUCKET without waiting for the future. Note that you can actually get the new WRENCH before filling up the BUCKET at all, meaning there are always two ways to get a full BUCKET. A) Getting the new WRENCH and using it with the FAUCET. and B) Using the BUCKET with the FAUCET in the Past to get a full BUCKET in the Future, then optionally transferring it back to the Past using the NE room.

Still in the Past, take the BUCKET from the center room and use it with the FAUCET to fill it up. Use the full BUCKET with the FIRE to put it out and gain access to the N room (you could also have gone through it from the East side because the TROLL will now let you through). There are no TREES here because you burned them earlier by using the ASHES in the Future, so you can pass.

Still in the Past, go West into the NW room. Take the SHOES and leave the full BUCKET. Go East twice to get to the NE room. Leave the SHOES in this room to transfer them to the Future.

In the Future, navigate to the NE room and pick up the SHOES. These allow you to cross the garden in the W room without breaking the loop. Navigate to the W garden room and then go North to get to the NW room. Pick up the BUCKET of ice, then navigate back through the W room to the NE room. Leave the BUCKET of ice there to transfer it to the past.

In the Past, pick up the BUCKET of ice from the NE room. Navigate to the S room with the WINDOW. Use the BUCKET of ice on the WINDOW to shatter it. This completes the loop in this room(in the Future, there was a broken window with a puddle next to it).

In the Past, you may also use other objects (TEAPOT, SHOES, WRENCH) to break the WINDOW, but they will not complete the loop seeing as they don't generate the puddle. If you had simply used the full BUCKET with the WINDOW rather than the ice BUCKET, it would have created a puddle in the Past, but flavortext would indicate to you that the puddle was evaporating quickly (so there would be no water left in the Future).

In the Future, go to the S room with the broken WINDOW. You are now able to go E through the broken WINDOW to get to the SE room. Open the OVEN and take the PIE inside. Also take the URN. Go West twice to get to the SW room. Leave the PIE and URN to they become younger.

In the Past, navigate to the SW room and pick up what are now APPLES (ignore BERNARD, the younger version of the URN, for now). Open/use the APPLES to get SEEDS. Navigate to the center room and use the SEEDS with the SOIL (or leave the SEEDS) to plant a tree in the Past.

In the Future, navigate to the center room to find a massive TREE. Note that if you hadn't fixed the FAUCET earlier, you would instead get a withered TREE that you couldn't climb, necessitating acquiring the new WRENCH. Use the TREE to get up to the SCROLL, then take the SCROLL.

Navigate to the NE or SW room to transfer the SCROLL to the Past (the NE room explicitly doesn't age objects, and the SW room transfers younger versions of objects to the Past. As it so happens the SCROLL is the same, even while younger, so you can do either).

In the Past, take the SCROLL for the NE or SW room, then go to the SW room and use the SCROLL with BERNARD to get a translated SCROLL. Look at the SCROLL to get the final clue, which looks like this:

These clues correspond to the 3x3 grid map. For every clue, you must change it in the same way that the corresponding room would change the object, (aging either forward, backward, or not at all) then index into that new object to get a letter.
