Each clue in the top list consists of two subclues that have been interwoven; however, in each clue, one word from the overall clue has been removed and appears in the bottom list.

Each of the subclue answers has the same number of letters as its subclue and the two subclue answers together form an interlock weaving together in the same way that the words of the subclues are interwoven after restoring the word that is in the bottom list to its proper place. The letter that corresponds to the word that was in the bottom list is the letter extracted.
