In the January 1997 issue of Games World of Puzzles magazine, there is a picture of Elvis on the table of contents. This picture appears on page 22 associated with a quiz question. However, the answer to that question is not the answer to the puzzle. What you actually need is on page 19, in the Cryptolists by Rachel Davis (a pseudonym whose names end with EL-VIS). List 4, the "mystery list", has ANSWER HECK as an acrostic among the encrypted words and phrases. There is supposed to be some path between the two. So HECK is the answer.
