About MeI am currently a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Aeronautics & Astronautics at MIT, working with Prof. Karen Willcox in the Aerospace Computational Design Laboratory. My research interests include uncertainty quantification for complex systems, sensitivity analysis, decision-making under uncertainty, and aviation environmental impacts. My Master's Degree was also in Aeronautics & Astronautics from MIT, working with Prof. Ian Waitz in the Laboratory for Aviation and the Environment. My S.M. thesis is entitled Development of an Income-Based Hedonic Monetization Model for the Assessment of Aviation-Related Noise Impacts. Prior to MIT, I attended Duke University's Pratt School of Engineering, where I double majored in Mechanical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering. In addition to research, I am also passionate about STEM outreach and community involvement. As Co-President of the Women's Graduate Association of Aeronautics & Astronautics in 2011-2012, I helped found the department's Outreach Initiative, which facilitates opportunities to teach science and engineering to K-12 students through classroom presentations and hands-on demonstrations. Over the past year, I have organized and participated in a number of outreach activities, including visits to K-12 classrooms, the MIT Museum, and various science festivals and summer programs in the Boston area. For the past five years I have also been fortunate to live in the Sidney-Pacific Graduate Residence, a vibrant community of 700 graduate students. During this time, I have served in the Sidney-Pacific community in many roles and worked on numerous initiatives aimed at improving the graduate student experience at MIT. Examples include dorm-wide social events, Sidney-Pacific's 10th Anniversary Reunion, and a canned food drive benefitting the Greater Boston Food Bank. In my free time, I enjoy running, cooking, and watching Duke basketball. Awards and Honors
