Research Interests
My current research focuses on the molecular characterization of the
heparinase family of bacterial enzymes. Specifically, I'm examining
the role of histidine in heparinase III activity and the potential
role of Ca2+ in heparinase I processivity. Future work will likely
include further enzyme characterization as well as polysaccharide
sequencing. The goal of this research is the development of an
in-depth understanding of HLGAG structure-function relationships for
the rational design of novel therapeutics.
Other Interests
Some of my other interests include playing volleyball, running,
biking, hiking, fly fishing, and having a good time.
