Ram Vasudevan
I am a post-doctoral associate in the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) working with Russ Tedrake. My research focuses on the development of system theory to guide the construction of algorithms for the automated discovery of neuromuscular abnormalities and for the automated rehabilitation of observed deficiencies. In order to devise such techniques, my research contributes to three fundamental themes within systems engineering: robust estimation from noisy sensor measurements, dynamical system identification, and the development of computationally tractable system theoretic measures corresponding to the evaluation of pathologies or the quality of rehabilitation that is being provided. My fields of expertise are computer vision, hybrid dynamical systems, and optimal control theory. Prior to beginning my position at MIT in October 2012, I completed my PhD in Electrical Engineering in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences at the University of California, Berkeley working with Ruzena Bajcsy in August 2012. Before completing my PhD, I graduated Highest Honors with a BS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences and an Honors Degree in Physics from the University of California, Berkeley in May 2006 and an MS in Electrical Engineering in May 2009. |
