Burning Issues
Work-In-Progress, August 15, 1995
At our initial working session in June 1995, the I/T Leadership Team used the affinity diagram (aka KJ) tool on the question: What are the BURNING ISSUES this team must deal with? These are the resulting header cards:
What do we do about delivery process?
- How do we deal with outside IS stuff?
- How do we get ITLT to work together?
- How do we publicize/market ITLT to MIT?
- How do we help staff thru neutral zone?
- How do we (re)arrange people into teams?
- How do we organize work into new framework?
- What are our HR principles?
- How do we get competency groups going?
- How do we manage our finances?
- How do we set goals and priorities?
- How do we measure and report progress and results?
- How do we best become a valued resource to the MIT community?
- Are we going to do departmental applications "for hire"?
- What do we mean by shared responsibility among ITLT?
- How big/enduring is the "safety net"?
- What is our staff retention strategy?
