Requesting Enrollment and Degree Certification
How to Order
MIT can provide, free of charge, official written certification of your enrollment, student status, or registration.
The certification can be faxed or mailed to you or to a third party. It can also be held for you to pick up.
Certification letters are used for many purposes including medical insurance, scholarships, car insurance, employers and credit card companies. Some organizations provide forms to be completed.

Current students should request certification letters through the Student Services Center, 11-120. Requests can be made in person, by fax, or by mail.
Forms from an agency or company should be submitted to the Student Services Center. Be sure to fill out and sign your part of the form before leaving it at the SSC.

Dean's Certification Forms for applications to professional programs should be forwarded to the Registrar's Office, 5-119, to be completed. Processing of the forms can take up to two weeks so be sure to plan ahead.

Certification letters can be sent via DHL express service at an additional cost to you. This service is next business day to most U.S. destinations, while deliveries to international locations may take several days. Be advised that DHL will not deliver to a post office box.

To pay by credit card please use MIT's online payment service. This service is secure and encrypted. Please note that this payment service is not an online ordering service. For documents that require your signature to release (GPA, undergraduate class rank, student status) you must submit a signed request in order to release that information.
