Access to and Use of Students' Academic Records

A student's academic record may be accessed through WebSIS by the undergraduate or graduate academic administrator and academic officers of the student's department or departments as needed for uses similar to those of advisors. For freshmen and for undesignated sophomores, the department is the Office of Undergraduate Advising and Academic Programming.

Personally identifiable information from the student's academic record, including photographs, may not be used for other purposes, nor may it be disseminated further without the student's consent, except as appropriate to departmental and Institute committees that monitor and evaluate academic performance. Before posting student information to any website, you should read section 7.2 of MIT's Student Information Policy. See also: Faculty and Staff Guide to the Student Information Policy.
