Special students (both graduate and undergraduate) registering during either the fall or spring term (whether for credit or not) are charged per unit of registration. The charge is $585 per unit.
There is a minimum charge of $3,560 for MIT affiliates which covers up to 6 units of registration. For non-MIT affiliates the minimum charge is $5,335 and this covers up to 9 units of registration. If a student registers for more than either 6 or 9 units as appropriate they will be charged per unit up to a maximum of $18,755.
A different rate applies for non-MIT affiliates taking classes as a special student in the Sloan School of Management. In this case the charge is $1,024 per unit. The minimum charge, covering up to 9 units of registration, is $9,290 and the maximum charge is $33,500.
