Freshmen meet individually with their advisors on Thursday, September 3, to discuss fall term subject selection and complete Registration Forms.
ESG, Concourse, and MAS have special registration procedures. These Learning Communities distribute registration instructions to the students participating in their programs.
Before meeting with advisors freshmen should check their online freshman advising folders for pending credit and the results of advanced standing exams, the HASS-D lottery, the freshman essay evaluation, and the math diagnostic.
On the Registration Form the student and advisor fill in the subject number, title, and number of units for each subject. Both the student and advisor sign the form.
Freshmen are limited to 54 units in the fall term. The only exceptions for exceeding the credit limit are for Mission 2013/12.000 (57 units) or for Seminar XL (57 or 60 units). ROTC subjects, which students must register for, do not count toward the credit limit.
Freshmen assigned to an advising seminar are automatically registered for the seminar subject. Do not write the subject on the Registration Form.
Freshmen accepted into Mission 2013 are automatically registered for 12.000 Solving Complex Problems. Do not write the subject on the Registration Form.
The student takes the white and yellow copies of the Registration Form to the Student Services Center, 11-120, by 5:00 pm on Thursday, September 3. The advisor keeps the pink copy.
Once the Registration Form is turned in, all subsequent changes to subjects require Add/Drop/Change Forms approved by the advisor.
On Saturday, September 5, students’ individual class schedules are available on WebSIS. These schedules remain online until 5:00 pm on Friday, September 11. Students should make sure to print their schedules or transfer the information to a personal calendar before 5:00 pm on Friday.
Staff from the Registrar’s Office is available at Johnson Athletic Center (W34) between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm on Registration Day, September 8, to assist with schedule questions and conflicts.
