Undergraduate Majors and Minors

Information for freshmen about choosing a major can be found on the first year site prepared by the Office of Undergraduate Advising and Programming, 7-104.

Degree requirements for major programs are outlined in the MIT Course Catalog.

If considering a change of major, consult with the Undergraduate Academic Officer or Administrator in the new department to determine what subjects from your current major could be used to satisfy requirements in the new major.

If you have questions about how a change of major would affect your Institute GIR audit, contact Jessica Zdon-Smith in the Registrar's Office, 5-117.
