Summer and Fall 2014 Online Pre-registration

Summer
  1. Enter your subjects directly in subject selection following these instructions. Current pre-registration selections can be viewed on the pre-registration summary page.

  2. For-credit subjects are listed in the Summer Session Catalog. UROP and research subjects can also be taken.

  3. Students taking only thesis or research during the summer must pre-register.

  4. Pre-registered subjects can be updated until May 30, when pre-registration closes.

Fall
  1. OPTION A: Enter your subjects, including thesis and UROP, directly in subject selection following these instructions.

      -or-

    OPTION B: Choose your subjects, including thesis and UROP, in the Subject Listing and Schedule and auto-submit them to pre-registration. The advanced search feature can help you find subjects to fit your interests or schedule.

  2. Current pre-registration selections can be viewed on the pre-registration summary page.
  3. Students taking only thesis or research must pre-register.
  4. NEW deadline for Communication-Intensive HASS (CI-H or CI-HW) subjects.  Students interested in pre-registering for a CI-H or CI-HW subject must enter their selections by June 16, 2014.  While progressing through online pre-registration, you will be prompted to use a CI-H/HW Selector Tool where you will have the opportunity to request prioritized scheduling for one or two CI-H/HW subjects with alternatives for each, or place yourself on a wait list.  The new June 16 deadline is intended to encourage students to make informed CI-H/HW choices, provide departments with information so that resources can be allocated based on student interest, and optimize student choice with CI priorities set by the Faculty Subcomittee on the Communication Requirement.  More information is available about the CI-H/HW Selector Tool.


  5. Dates for Sloan Course Bidding (Course 15) for non-Sloan students will be posted by May 1.


Deadlines and Late Fees

Summer

Pre-registration for the Summer Session closes at 5:00 pm on Friday, May 30. There is a $50 late fee.

Fall

The deadline for continuing students to initiate pre-registration and request priority scheduling for CI-H/HW choices using the new selector tool is is 5:00 pm on Monday, June 16. There is a $50 late fee for students who initiate pre-registration after June 16 and an $85 fine for students who fail to pre-register by 5:00 pm on Tuesday, August 19.


How to check your pre-registration once it is submitted

Go to the pre-registration summary page to check on your current subject selections. This page displays what pre-registration is on file with the Registrar's Office.



After Pre-registration Closes

Summer

Students will use the online registration application to register for Summer Session. Graduate students who are enrolled in a research degree program and who are taking only thesis or pre-thesis research subjects during the summer will have their registration approved by their department. All other students should contact their department to discuss subject selection. See Summer Registration Instructions.

Fall

Your pre-registration is replaced with your class schedule on WebSIS when pre-registration closes. Schedules will be run for all students on August 29, 2014. The class schedule includes the subjects you pre-registered for and the results of the new CI-H/HW enrollment process and Sloan Bidding.
