Conflict Examinations

Students who have two or more finals scheduled during the same exam period are permitted to take a conflict examination. A conflict examination will be scheduled at another time during exam week.

In order to be scheduled for a conflict exam, students must do the following:

  1. Verify your exams using the Final Examination schedule (http://web.mit.edu/registrar/www/schedules/exams.html).

  2. Complete all ADD/DROP/CHANGE information as soon as possible so that it reflects your current subject enrollment.
  3. Students will be contacted by the Schedules Office after ADD DATE to verify exam conflict(s).

  4. Students will be assigned a conflict examination by the end of the 13th week of the semester.

  5. Attend the final examination(s) and/or conflict final examination(s) required in the subjects for which you are registered.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

Cross-registered students with conflicts between their MIT final examination and another school's schedule will need to contact their MIT instructor to resolve the conflict.

Students wishing to be scheduled for a conflict examination due to travel plans, etc. must talk with the instructor directly. However, instructors are under no obligation to accommodate these requests.
