I work in MIT's Information Services and Technology department (IS&T). More specifically, I am a member of Data and Reporting Services team within ISDA (Infrastructure Software Development and Architecture) which is part of IS&T.
A project that occupies much of my time is the Roles Database. This is a central system used to manage people's authorizations and roles for various computer-based applications at MIT. See a recent document explaining authorizations in the Roles Database.
I've also done the design work and implementation of the Master Department Hierarchy for MIT. (The system links together objects from the numerous existing systems that maintain various financial, academic, or other "org. charts", all of them different from one another.)
