Stephen Smyth <snsmyth@mit.edu> An idea: Why not convert Ashdown to an undergraduate dorm and build the new dorm primarily for graduate students? Most rooms in Ashdown are shared which I believe is a positive living arrangement for undergraduates, but not at all for graduate students. I also believe that it is more valuable for undergraduates to be living in a convenient campus location (i.e. Ashdown) than in a remote part of campus (as the new dorm would be). Graduate students on the other hand are generally more used to living further away from campus. I have no hard data to support any of these beliefs, but I thought I'd just throw in the idea.
