Resident Advisor Program
The RA Program in Fraternities, Sororities, and Independent Living Groups has been an evolving program since its inception at MIT a decade ago. RAs serve the undergraduate members living in FSILG facilities as a guide, mentor, and resource to students in a variety of different areas, and serve as a liaison to MIT via the FSILG Office in terms of resources, partnerships with other Institute offices and departments, and crisis management. Resident Advisors are trained by the FSILG Office and are provided with a free room and house meal plan in their FSILG residence, as well as a small programming stipend. Please see the full job description of the RA Position.
Applications for Fall 2009 Resident Advisor Positions are now being accepted, and will remain open until Friday, March 27, 2009. First-round interviews by the FSILG Office staff will be conducted on a rolling basis as applications are submitted. Applicants who are approved via the first-round interviews may then be interviewed by individual houses/chapters to find a specific FSILG assignment. Not all applicants who are approved via the first-round interviews will be placed in an FSILG chapter. RAs will be notified of selection by the FSILG by May 8, 2009 and will be expected to move into the chapter facility or make arrangements with the chapter to move in by August 1, 2009.
