The Research Lab of Electronics at MITVolunteers between the ages of 18-70 years are sought for hearing experiments. The goal of this research is to develop improved speech reception for users of hearing aids. We are recruiting volunteers with normal hearing as well as those with hearing loss. All volunteers must be native English speakers. The project is headed by Dr. Louis D. Braida, MIT Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. Please see the attached fliers with details and contact information.

Brain Imaging Study
We are currently looking for healthy adults between the ages of 65 and 90 to participate in an MRI study in John Gabrieli’s lab at MIT’s Brain and Cognitive Science’s Department. We are investigating how healthy adults make choices. The study consists of 2 sessions here at the MIT campus, typically 2-3 hours each. Compensation is $20/hour plus the possibility of extra incentive payment . Parking provided.
If you or someone you know would like more information about the study, please contact Nina Wickens, by phone at 617-324-5304 or email nwickens@mit.edu.

The Aging, Memory & Cognition Project at MIT

MIT 's Behavioral Neuroscience Laboratory, headed by Dr. Suzanne Corkin, seeks to understand the brain mechanisms that underlie human cognition (thinking process).  Dr. Corkin and her colleagues are conducting research studies using neuropsychological tests that have been carefully designed to measure the patterns of ability and loss in the aging population.  Central to this pursuit is the need to compare the performance of older subjects to that of young, healthy volunteers.

Dr. Corkin is looking for healthy volunteers in the 60-85 year age group to participate in research studies.  Subjects must be native English speakers.  Subjects may perform tests of vision, hearing, memory, learning, and language.  All of the tests are non-invasive and drug-free.  Participants are paid $10 /hour as compensation for their time and efforts.

If you have questions, or if you would like to participate in our research studies, contact Jeremy Young at the MIT Behavioral Neuroscience Laboratory at mitstudies@gmail.com or (617) 253-7437.
