STUDENT AWARDS
-
There will be separate awards for posters, and for talks. Each type
will have a structure of first place+2 runner ups. In each type the cash award will be
$300/$100/$100.
- There will be no distinction between grads and undergrads either for
the poster pool or the oral presentation pool.
-
Both categories of awards will be judged by the members of the
meeting leadership. This will consist of those at Lincoln who are involved
along with members of the NES Exec Board. Those with conflicts will
recuse themselves as they see fit.
-
Students who wish to be considered for awards must identify themselves as students when they present talks, or in the authorship information
on their posters.
-
For judging posters the award judges will include student performance in answering questions. To implement the monitoring of Q&A, students will send answers, along with the questions, to the sender of the question, and cc the judges. The list of judge emails is here.
-
The meeting leadership may make changes in the details of the award rules if (e.g., too few
participants) make it necessary or advisable and fair.
