One of the driving missions of the MIT Rocket Team is to educate others about the fundamentals of rocketry. As such the MIT Rocket Team has had many opportunities to engage younger students in activities to foster interest in science, engineering, and spaceflight. The MIT Rocket Team is proud to take part in educational engagement as part of NASA's University Student Launch Initiative.
For the 2010-2011 year the MIT Rocket Team has three main event planned to engage the greater Boston community in rocketry education. As done in pervious years, the MIT Rocket Team will be teaching a fundamentals of rocketry and composites class as part of the MIT Educational Studies Program's Spark and Splash events. The MIT Rocket Team is branching out this year and is in the planning stages of hosting a public rocketry talk and demonstration at the Boston Museum of Science.
