MIT: An engine of energy innovation
Novel clean energy technologies developed at MIT were recently deemed to be potentially "transformative" by the U.S. Department of Energy. The technologies are the focus of research awards by DOE's new Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy. Above, Professor Donald Sadoway (right), recipient of one of the ARPA-E awards, and graduate student David Bradwell, both of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, are working on liquid metal batteries, a technology that could make possible grid-scale energy storage.Full spotlight >
